iFLY Hydrofoil sailing: Innovation. Engineering. Responsibility.
High-performance sailing depends on advanced composites. Yet traditional carbon laminates present a well-known challenge: recyclability

The iFLY15 and the iFLY RAZZOR Pro – Sustainability as a concept
Foiling has fundamentally transformed performance sailing. With this technological leap comes responsibility. Innovation must be evaluated not only by speed, but by its ecological and structural impact.
CEC Catamarans GmbH has embedded sustainability into the development of the iFLY15 and the iFLY RAZZOR Pro. Production, materials, and construction are aligned within a coherent sustainability strategy.
Responsible engineering is not treated as an additional feature, but as an integral part of the platform.
iFLY Carbon or iFLY Tenron: A New Composite Path
High-performance sailing depends on advanced composites. Traditional carbon laminates deliver exceptional stiffness and low weight, yet present a well-known challenge: recyclability.
The iFLY platform is available in a high-tech carbon version, and optionally in advanced Tenron.
TENRON®, developed by Isomatex, is an aerospace-accredited, high-performance mineral reinforcement fiber. Like carbon, Tenron fibers are combined with resin to manufacture hulls and structural composite components. It is a true load-bearing fiber that can fully replace carbon within the laminate structure.
Tenron provides high tensile strength, low weight, excellent fatigue resistance, strong impact performance, high resistance to aggressive marine environments, and inherent fire resistance. Structural stiffness and weight remain comparable to carbon.
Tenron offers full recyclability and a lower CO₂ footprint. It directly addresses the end-of-life limitations of conventional carbon construction, while maintaining the performance standards expected from a foiling platform.
Fully modular. Expandable. Recyclable.
Made in Western Europe under controlled production standards.

Responsibility Starts on Shore
Sustainability does not begin offshore. It begins in the production hall.
The precision components of the FLYsafe® Flight Control System are engineered in Germany. Composite hull production and final assembly are handled by CEC Portugal LDA – Advanced Composites in Portugal. This Western European production model ensures short supply chains, compliance with strict environmental and labor regulations, and full process transparency.
In an industry where offshore mass production is common, this is a deliberate decision. For owners, it means traceability, reliability, and consistent quality control. For the industry, it sets a benchmark in fair production standards.
High Quality as a Sustainability Strategy
Durability is one of the most powerful yet overlooked sustainability drivers in yacht construction.
The iFLY models integrate premium hardware from technical leaders such as Harken, Igus, Magic Marine, and Lanex Ropes. These components are selected for fatigue resistance, precision, and extended lifecycle performance.
Less wear. Fewer replacement parts. Reduced maintenance intervals.
Longevity directly reduces ecological impact.
Intelligent Construction as a Sustainability Element
Sustainability is also reflected in structural design.
The structural crashbox system inside the hulls adds another layer of responsible engineering. In the event of grounding or hitting a floating object, a sacrificial element absorbs impact forces, preventing structural hull failure. Instead of replacing entire composite sections, a single component can be exchanged. Repairability is sustainability in practice.
Fully Modular and Upgradeable
The iFLY platform is fully modular.
True sustainability requires lifecycle thinking.
The modularity of the platform enables long-term expandability. Owners can upgrade configurations instead of replacing the entire boat. The architectural concept even enables progression from the iFLY15 to the RAZZOR Pro within the same platform philosophy.
This approach preserves embedded energy, reduces material consumption, and significantly extends product lifespan. Modular thinking transforms high-performance sailing into a long-term investment rather than a short-term consumption product.
Burn Muscles, Not Fuel
Foiling is not only spectacular, it is fundamentally efficient.
The iFLY15 and iFLY RAZZOR Pro are purely wind-powered sailing boats. No engine. No fuel.
Foiling reduces hydrodynamic resistance and enables high speeds through wind energy alone. Performance is achieved through technical efficiency rather than increased resource consumption.
The iFLY15 and the iFLY RAZZOR Pro demonstrate that sustainability in performance sailing requires structural engineering decisions.
Fair European production, durable premium components, repair-friendly construction, modular upgrade capability, and recyclable material options together form a coherent sustainability concept.
Racing without regret
Performance sailing redefined – maximum speed, minimum environmental footprint, engineered responsibility in every layer of the platform.
